Plum Creek Wisconsin
Plum Creek first entered Wisconsin in 2001 when it merged with The Timber Company and acquired approximately 200,000 acres in the state. Plum Creek then acquired an additional 307,000 acres from Stora Enso in 2002. Today, the company is one of the largest private landowners in the state and sustainably manages approximately 400,000 acres of forestland in 26 counties.
Plum Creek is a land and timber company whose core business is timber management. The company also manages some of its land for conservation, recreation, natural resources and community development.
The company is committed to sustainable forestry and environmental responsibility and works in partnership with local and state governments to ensure it meets or exceeds all forestry rules, regulations and environmental laws.
Plum Creek understands and is part of the special way of life in northern Wisconsin, and as such recognizes and supports the many recreational activities Wisconsin's forestlands provide. That is one of the reasons why Plum Creek offers public access on much of its land. Through Wisconsin's Managed Forest Law program, approximately 98 percent of Plum Creek's Wisconsin land is publicly accessible for hunting, fishing, hiking, snowmobiling and more.
Plum Creek is also the largest supplier to the state's second largest industry - forest products. In Wisconsin alone, the company directly employs 24 people, partners with more than 130 contractors and works with more than 60 customers throughout the state. Plum Creek's customers manufacture a variety of wood, pulp and paper products. In addition, several of our customers make some unique products, including sticks for ice cream novelty treats, NBA and college basketball floors, violins and other instruments, and more.
Plum Creek has three offices in Wisconsin, which are located in Tomahawk, Hayward and Wisconsin Rapids. The company's Wisconsin headquarters is located in Tomahawk, at the Stonewood Center.
