PRICE COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT RECEIVES $4,500 PLUM CREEK FOUNDATION GRANT
HAYWARD, Wis.--Jan. 30, 2009--The Plum Creek Foundation recently awarded a $4,500 grant to the Price County Sheriff’s Department to help replace outdated water rescue and safety equipment.
The Sheriff’s Department has jurisdiction over all the waterways in Price County, and the Foundation grant will help fund the purchase of a new, larger rescue boat for emergencies. The new boat will also include a trailer for transport and a new, eco-friendly motor. The equipment will be used to safely transport Department officers and other emergency staff to emergency sites, and serve as a remote command and on-site stable rescue platform.
“We are grateful to the Plum Creek Foundation for its generous grant and support,” said Price County Sheriff Wallace Krenzke. “Our current boat is too narrow and is unstable during rescues. With this grant, we will be able to better protect and serve Price County residents.”
The mission of the Plum Creek Foundation is to provide philanthropic contributions to support and improve the general welfare of life in the communities that Plum Creek serves. The Foundation board meets quarterly to review applications submitted from organizations in the company’s operating communities.
