Plum Creek Wisconsin

Plum Creek is a land and timber company whose core business is timber management. Plum Creek first entered Wisconsin in 2001 and has made several land acquisitions since that time.  The company owns and manages land to meet a variety of needs, including growing, harvesting and replanting timber resources, as well as providing recreational, conservation and development opportunities.  Today, the company is one of the largest private landowners in the state and sustainably manages approximately 197,000 acres of forestland in 26 counties.

The company is committed to sustainable forestry and environmental responsibility. Plum Creek works in partnership with local and state governments to ensure it meets or exceeds all forestry rules, regulations and environmental laws.  In 2010 alone, Plum Creek planted nearly 800,000 seedlings in Wisconsin, and the company plants approximately 60 million trees each year nationwide.

Plum Creek understands and is part of the special way of life in northern Wisconsin, and as such, recognizes and supports the many recreational activities Wisconsin's forestlands provide. That is one of the reasons why Plum Creek is proud to offer public access on much of its land. Through Wisconsin's Managed Forest Law program, approximately 98 percent of Plum Creek's Wisconsin land is publicly accessible for hunting, fishing, hiking, snowmobiling and more.

Plum Creek is also one of the largest suppliers to the state's second largest industry - forest products. In Wisconsin alone, the company partners with dozens of contractors, and has customers throughout the state. Plum Creek's customers manufacture a variety of wood, pulp and paper products, and several make unique products, including sticks for ice cream novelty treats, NBA and college basketball floors, violins and other instruments and more.

Plum Creek's Wisconsin headquarters is located in Tomahawk, at the Stonewood Center.
