Sustainable Forest Management

Our foresters practice sustainable forestry, which means that we use environmentally friendly forest management practices while helping to meet the public's need for wood and paper products.

In fact, Plum Creek was the first company in the country to have all of its timberlands independently certified under the Sustainable Forestry Initiative® (SFI®). By operating under the SFI, the company puts into action its commitment to the environment.

Replanting

Plum Creek knows the important value of reforesting, which is why it plants millions of trees each year. In fact, in 2011, Plum Creek planted approximately 70,000 trees in Maine alone, and nationwide, the company plants approximately 60 million trees each year.
