Plum Creek Honored as Georgia Forestry for Wildlife Partner
Plum Creek has been recognized as a 2012 Forestry for Wildlife Partner by Georgia governor Nathan Deal. The recognition is part of a program administered by the Wildlife Resources Division of the state's Department of Natural Resources. The voluntary program promotes sustainable forestry and wildlife conservation in corporate forestry practices. Plum Creek first gained recognition in the program in 2004 and has participated every year since.

Plum Creek is one of the largest landowners in the nation and the most geographically diverse.

Our primary business is to actively manage our timberlands to capture the most value from every acre we own. That means owning timberlands in the most robust markets, making prudent investments in the growth of our timberland assets and harvesting trees at the best "economically mature" point in the life cycle of a tree.

Plum Creek owns timberlands in more than a dozen states from coast to coast. More details

We manage our timberlands following sustainable forestry practices, and sell timber or logs to customers throughout the United States. Our customers manufacture a variety of wood, pulp and paper products that serve the everyday needs of people worldwide.

By acquiring attractive timberlands and using advanced silviculture practices, we improve the productivity of our forests, which adds to our timber inventory. And we improve the productivity of our timberland investments by purchasing timberlands that add to our timber inventory, harvest and cash flow.

The company works to maximize the value of all its assets, which include timberland, wood products manufacturing facilities and natural resources.

Plum Creek is a Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT). Investing in a timber REIT is an ideal way to own timberlands. The company is the first and largest publicly-held timber REIT.
